Lindsay was grinning at a card her parents had sent her. Not because of the heartfelt message written on it. It was the fifty dollar bill that fell out of the card she was most interested in. This was their birthday present to her.

There was also a care package. Well, it was a tin filled with chocolate chip cookies her mother had baked. There was also a note telling her to spend the money wisely. Lindsay just rolled her eyes slightly and laughed. Last year she had unwisely spent birthday money on fake IDs, which ended up being a bad investment. Her parents never found out about that as far as she knew. While it wasn't going to be spent foolishly like that again, it wasn't going toward her college fund either. She had plans.

She reached for a cookie and smiled. "Happy birthday to me."
